About Leo

Leo Wilssens is a national-level junior track sprinter racing in the Men 11-12 category with Jerry Baker Juniors. A sprint-focused rider, he placed 6th in the 500 m time trial at the 2026 USA Cycling Junior Track Nationals.

    Frame and fork

    BXT TRC-195 carbon track frameset — size XS

    What it is
    A carbon fixed-gear track frameset for 700C wheels and tires up to 28C, with 10x120 mm rear dropouts, a BSA threaded bottom bracket and a 1-1/8-inch headset. The frameset includes the frame, fork, seatpost, headset and seat clamp.
    Why this setup
    Leo rides the XS TRC-195 as the foundation of his current track bike. Its dedicated track layout supports the rigid, direct fixed-gear drivetrain used for velodrome racing.

    Handlebars

    Alpina Enduro carbon track handlebars

    What it is
    A gloss-finished UD Toray carbon track bar with anti-slip paint on the tops and hoods. It uses a 31.8 mm stem clamp and measures 330 mm center-to-center at the drops, 236 mm inside-to-inside at the hoods, with 127 mm of drop and 105 mm of reach.
    Why this setup
    Leo’s current track bike uses the Alpina Enduro’s narrow, track-specific shape. The carbon construction provides a rigid control point for starts, sprinting and close racing on the velodrome.

    Wheels

    FFWD RYOT 77 Track wheelset

    What it is
    A front-and-rear track wheelset with 77 mm carbon tubular rims, FFWD’s Laminar Airflow Wing rim profile and track-specific FFWD hubs. The wheels use locking end nuts and include a sprocket lockring.
    Why this setup
    Leo uses the RYOT 77 Track wheelset for its deep, rigid carbon rims and track-specific hubs, combining aerodynamic performance with direct handling on the velodrome.

    Tires

    What it is
    The bike’s contact points with the track, where casing, compound and pressure affect grip and rolling resistance.
    Why this setup
    The tire model and race-pressure approach will be added only after the setup is confirmed.

    Crankset and power meter

    XCADEY XPOWER-S GEN2 with ROTOR ALDHU track cranks

    What it is
    A spider-based track power meter paired with modular CNC-machined 7075 aluminum ROTOR ALDHU crank arms. It measures both legs with power balance, supports ANT+ and Bluetooth, fits 144 BCD five-bolt track chainrings and uses a rechargeable battery rated for up to 350 hours.
    Why this setup
    Leo uses the XPOWER-S GEN2 to record power and cadence from his fixed-gear track bike. The manufacturer claims ±1% accuracy, while the modular ALDHU system supports different crank lengths and spindle options as his setup develops.

    Gearing

    A single chainring and rear sprocket create one fixed ratio—there are no shifters, freewheel or brakes.
    Why this setup
    Race gearing changes by event and conditions; only confirmed, non-schedule-specific examples will be published.

    Chain

    Shimano XTR/Dura-Ace CN-HG901 11-speed chain

    What it is
    A 116-link, nickel-plated steel chain with Shimano’s low-friction SIL-TEC treatment, an asymmetrical directional design and a quick-link connection. Although designed for 11-speed drivetrains, it is also compatible with single-speed applications.
    Why this setup
    Leo uses the CN-HG901 in his fixed-gear track drivetrain for its smooth, low-friction running and direct power transfer during high-cadence efforts.

    Pedals and retention

    LOOK Kéo Blade clipless pedals

    What it is
    A clipless road pedal system that replaces a traditional steel retention spring with LOOK’s carbon leaf-spring blade and uses a broad cleat contact platform.
    Why this setup
    Leo uses the Kéo Blade system for secure foot retention and a stable pedaling platform during high-cadence efforts, standing starts and track sprints.
